The EON Foundation, funded through BHP, is building a community garden at Warralong. The garden will help our community by providing access to free, fresh and healthy fruit, vegetables, herb and bush foods. The garden will also be used to teach our students about gardening, growing your own food, healthy eating and cooking.
There is great progress in the garden so far thanks to our EON Project Officer Susie. So far in our garden we have grown:
- basil
- oregano
- garlic chives
- thyme
- mint
- strawberries
- sweet potato
With support from EON and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program we have also been holding cooking sessions in our classrooms, learning about how to eat healthy. Check out some photos from our cooking sessions below.
